Shropshire is a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England. It is bordered by Wales to the west and the English counties of Cheshire to the north, Staffordshire to the east, Worcestershire to the southeast, and Herefordshire to the south.
Shropshire Council was created in 2009, a unitary authority taking over from the previous county council and five district councils, covering Shropshire district. The borough of Telford and Wrekin has been a separate unitary authority since 1998, but remains part of the ceremonial county.
Our Relationship with Shropshire Council
Due to our expertise within social work, we have a strong relationship with Shropshire Council and have a good number of candidates working there including social workers and Team Managers. Due to this, we are signed up to receive all of their agency vacancies, allowing us to send across CV’s that we feel are most suitable. If a candidate appeals to the council, they will suggest an interview, and we will contact the social worker to help set this all up.
We’ll then aid our social worker with interview practice and technique, and boost their confidence so that they can use their strengths throughout the process.Â
Our support doesn’t end there, however. All of our social workers benefit from a dedicated consultant, who checks in with them to ensure and maintain job satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
‘’Can’t say enough positive things about Portman Recruitment! Well looked after, listened to, and supported. Go above and beyond to find the right role for you.’’ – Phil
